The Blue Devil football team has been on the up-and-coming in the past few years, and it seems like they have hit their stride this season. They ended the regular season with a winning record of 7-3 and are going to the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
Head Coach Robert Peters took over the program just last season, and has already implemented a new offensive system in his two seasons so far. Coach Peters remarks, “I’m just really proud,” and that he’s “excited for the fact we’re able to make the playoffs and see our boys play again on another Friday night.”
Overall, the team has done amazing this season, but there have been some standout players such as Rayshun Glover, who averages 50.5 yards per game. When asked about the season, Glover (10) said, “It’s a blessing, straight up what it is.”
Quarterback Andrew Smith (12) also said, “Nobody believed in us, but it’s chill,” and he feels confident going into playoffs. Smith ended the regular season with a team leading eleven total touchdowns.
The football team has also had some notable wins this season, such as a 17-0 shutout against Shaw and a dominant 38-7 win over Hardaway.
We wish them good luck at their first playoff game versus Hapeville Charter on November 12th!
