This week, CHS JROTC is raising money in a unique way: Shoot a Duck for a Buck!
The fundraiser invites students to pay $1 for five pellets to shoot at rubber ducks in the JROTC shooting range.
“You just shoot little rubber ducks! That’s all you do! It’s really fun!” said Cadet Sergeant First Class Ana Vilchez Jimenez (11).
There’s also a bonus challenge: hit all four ducks, and you’ll earn a “Sharp Shooter” sticker.
“We really love it! Everyone’s such a great shooter that we actually ran out of stickers!” Jimenez said.
In just four days, the event has raised over $500.
Tillford Thomas (12) exclaimed, “It was really fun, and I really enjoyed it! I felt like it was a unique experience that I probably never would have done otherwise.”
Jimenez wrapped up with a smile: “We’re so grateful for all the money we’ve raised! And to all the sharp shooters out there: join the Rifle Team!”
Want to shoot some ducks? Stop by the Armory during 1st through 6th period before November 7th, cash only!
