Columbus High is proud to announce the 2025 Homecoming Queen, Delaney Donahoe. Delaney precisely embodies Columbus High’s values of community, kindness, and involvement.

Delaney has always prioritized being present in school activities. She is currently the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook, a position that has immensely strengthened her passions for photography and design. To channel this passion into tangible efforts, she currently interns at Brantley Photography Studio, where she gains hands-on experience in a field she hopes to continue in the future. She is also a proud member of a plethora of clubs and honor societies: National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National French Honor Society, Beta Club, Recycling Club, and UNICEF Unite.

When asked about her reaction to being named Homecoming Queen, Delaney emphasizes the excitement and awe she first felt when she was being crowned.

“I was so surprised, and I actually couldn’t hear it at first,” she laughed. “When I realized, I was so shocked, but mostly just appreciative for the experience and for everyone who voted for me.”

She also shares that one of her favorite memories from homecoming week, and high school in total, was getting to share such a special moment with her friends on the court.

Her family and friends shared this same excitement.

“My dad made a bunch of jokes because I was freaking out, but overall, they were so proud.”

When reflecting on her time at Columbus High, Delaney champions Ms.Mills as one of her biggest supporters.

“She really helped me shape and improve my writing. Writing has always been something I love, and she made me more confident in it.”

Looking ahead, Delaney plans to attend college in a bustling city like Atlanta or Boston. Here, she hopes to major in media or communication studies. In the future, she sees herself working on a design or photography team for a company, a perfect fit to channel her creativity.

Whether she is behind a camera, editing the school yearbook, or walking across the football field to be crowned, Delaney Donahoe continues to make Columbus High proud.
