Tyler Secoy Commits to a Bright Future

On November 14th, Junior Tyler Secoy verbally committed to a division one wrestling program, North Dakota State University. The wrestling program is ranked within the top fifteen wrestling programs in the nation and participates in the highly competitive Big Twelve Conference.


Tyler won the previous individual Georgia state championship in February of 2022 as a sophomore in the 170 lbs weight class. As of now, he has competitively wrestled over seven years. Tyler has wrestled for CHS’s varsity wrestling team for the past two years and is competing this season.


“My dad was the biggest supporter along the way”, Tyler shared. “ He helped me with connecting with coaches and competing against tough opponents in order for me to be better.”


Tyler competes with top competition across the country. After winning against elite wrestling opponents, he was sought by many of the top programs throughout the nation.


Tyler wrestles at Storm Wrestling Center in Perry, GA. He has also competed for team Georgia and accomplished accolades such as Fargo All American honors.


Throughout multiple summers, Tyler devotes his time to traveling across the country in order to compete against fellow elite wrestlers. He has competed in Tennessee, Virginia, Iowa, North Dakota, Florida, and North Carolina.
