Columbus High Baseball hosts Marist War Eagles for Home Opener

Columbus High Baseball hosted their first home game of the season this past week. They took on the reigning-champ Marist War Eagles.



Andrew Wells (11), Jake Courville (11), Pearson Mckenzie (11), and Ashton Smith (12) stand together in front of second base for the national anthem. Prior to every home game, the Blue Devils stand aside one another for the anthem.






Jake Courville (11) slaps the tag on a Marist runner trying to steal 2nd base. The junior has stepped up as a leader during his time with the team.







Hogan Mayhew (12) started on the mound for the Blue Devils. In five innings, the Andrew College commit struck out 4 batters, giving up 1 Earned Run on 4 Hits and 3 Walks.






Korbin Reynolds (9) is currently the starting catcher on varsity. The young phenom hopes to establish a name for himself in his short time with the Blue Devils.






Coaches Mac Hill and Chad Mathis discuss offensive strategies in a tight ball game. This is their 6th year coaching together.
