Softball Takes to Super Regionals

The Lady Blue Devils Softball team is headed to playoffs with 2nd place Region under their belts.

With the regular season over, the ladies have an overall winning record of 17-9. These Blue Devils maintained a 12-3 winning record within the region. Overall, a successful season for our softball team!

“We have worked so hard on and off the field, whether it be summer workouts, late night practices, early morning practices, or getting together in our free time,” says Elise Jones, senior.

With playoffs approaching, Jones explains that the girls are “hungry to keep going” and have confidence the season will come to a successful close in the end.

Our softball team plays Super Regionals on October 20 and 21st. The girls are traveling to Harlem, Georgia to compete in a double-elimination tournament.

“Of course I hope to be state champs, but I am truly looking forward to watching each of my teammates push themselves past their limits, and show that they are going to make every play and hit count,” Christian Nelson, senior, explains.

The outcome of these games determines if the season continues for these Blue Devils. Our incredible team has confidence nonetheless and proudly supports our Columbus High.

“We’ve poured our blood sweat and tears into this team and I know it’s going to pay off. I love these blue devils with all of my heart!” exclaims Pluto Hart, senior.

With the ladies being placed #2 in the 3A Region and #16 in Georgia Class 3A, they are confident for the journey ahead. The ladies are excited and prepared to take on playoffs! They play their first game at 2:00 pm on October 20th in Harlem, Georgia.

Wish these ladies good luck as they hope to advance further in playoffs and represent our school proudly!

As Hart explained, “Once a blue devil, always a blue devil!”
